Now available: 12-month supply of birth control

Good news: ¬†As of July 1st, Virginia requires insurers to pay for a 12-month supply of birth control at a time.¬†Previously, they would cover a 90-day supply, but for people who spend much of their time at college, overseas, or traveling, this could be inconvenient. Now, if you know you like your birth control, and you’d like to pick up the entire year’s supply at once, you can! Just ask your provider to write the prescription that way. Of course, you can still get a 90 day supply if that works for you.

DC also has the same requirement; if you live in Maryland you may still have to stick with 3 months at a time.
